Most people think selling your home during the holidays is a terrible idea. Contrary to popular belief, the holidays are a great time to sell! Here are eleven reasons why.

1. Buyers are more serious during the holidays. With so much to do this time of year, buyers are not wasting time to casually view homes.

2. Serious buyers have fewer houses to choose from during the holidays.

3. Less competition means more money for you. The number of listings drops to its yearly low each December.

4. Listings will increase after January 1. This means less demand for your home. Less demand means less money for you.

5. Houses show better when they are decorated for the Holidays.

6. Buyers are more festive during the holidays. They are more likely to pay your price.

7. Some people must buy before the end of the year for tax reasons.

8. January is typically the month for employees to begin new jobs. Since transfers cannot wait until spring to buy, you need to be on the market during the holidays to capture those buyers.

9. You can restrict showings of your home in order to celebrate the holidays with your family.

10. Buyers have more time to look for a home during the holidays than they do during the work week.

11. By selling now, you have the opportunity to be a non-contingent buyer in the spring. There are more homes on the market and prices are lower. This means you could see high and buy low.

Hawaii Roller Derby is made up of advanced roller skaters from all over the island and will compete in Florida to represent the state of Hawaii against other state teams.

Started mid December 2012, fell in love so she stuck with it. She had a baby, and is now working on catching up on her skills to be an even better skater and teammate. Samara was a member of the Aloha City Knockouts, the mixed team from Aloha City Rollers and Echo City Knockouts.

Team Lally with Robyn Jumawan from PearlSide Boxing

Robyn Jumawan speaks about their organization and what exactly they do. She also shares news about a boxer who is currently undergoing treatment (Kalae McShane) who has fallen into a coma in Thailand. Robyn and the group will concentrate on classes, upcoming community service projects and on Kalae.

PearlSide Boxing was founded in September 1997 when Pastor Norman Nakanishi offered up the warehouse at Grace Bible Church PearlSide. For years, coach Eiichi has had the passion to give back to the community, especially with the young, the joy of getting fit through the sport of boxing.

Coach Eiichi had gained so much from boxing, winning 2 USA National Championships, representing the USA in international competition, was an alternate for the 1976 U.S. A. Olympic Boxing Team, he felt it was his calling to give back to Hawaii's young people.

They first established themselves as "Tomorrow's Champions Boxing Club" but changed it to PearlSide Boxing, in honor of our sponsor church. Thus, they are a "Christian" based program and this is a personal ministry of Coach Eiichi and wife Robyn Jumawan.

Meet Brooks Bowman at Team Lally

Brooks Bowman grew up in Southern California into a family of surfers, baseball, football and basketball players.

Brooks is considered by his many repeat clients to be an enthusiastic, affable and caring person with a good sense of humor which helps to lighten the intensity levels that are somewhat inherent in the real estate business. Brooks brought to his career, as a real estate licensee, years of home building and remodeling experience as well as years of experience in various sales capacities.

In 1997 his start in the real estate industry began as many do, in the mortgage sector of the business. His position as a loan officer and notary public at that time, gave him the opportunity to grow in experience and knowledge. Shortly thereafter, Brooks earned his real estate license in 1999 and then went on to earning his broker's license in 2003. Along with his wife, he opened a real estate brokerage that same year, and then went on to open a mortgage brokerage in 2004.

Brooks first experienced the wonders of Hawaii in 1961 as a five year old. His parents fondly recall that during the visit to the islands, he paddled his inner-tube out one late afternoon to get closer to the surfers in the line-up at Waikiki. After many trips to all of the main islands over the years, Brooks finally was able to fulfill his lifelong dream by moving to Oahu in 1989. He often quotes a bumper sticker he once saw which says, "I am not native, but I got here as soon as I could."

No, Brooks does not get to surf as much as he would like to these days, but he really enjoys the huge personal rewards of making things happen for his real estate clients. After watching Team Lally's approach to conducting business to the great benefit of the real estate buying and selling public, Brooks decided to join Team Lally as a Listing Partner in the fall of 2015.
