Community Initiatives and Personal Accountability with Augie T.- Hawaii Real Estate

This week on the Team Lally Real Estate Radio Show, we interview Augie T, a public servant with a multifaceted career. Augie shares insights into his roles and his focus for the next term, particularly on community initiatives. He'll discuss pressing issues like homelessness and crime, the importance of community engagement, and his efforts to rejuvenate Waipahu one block at a time through leadership and community events.

Augie T also introduces B.R.A.V.E Hawaii, a nonprofit founded by his daughter, detailing its origins and mission, along with her accomplishments. He shares about the Music Gives Back Program, an initiative that began with the Miss American Scholar, where contestants participate in monthly community service.

Who is Augie T?

Augie grew up in the Kamehameha IV Housing Project in Kalihi Valley and is a Farrington High School alum. He worked for 16 years at Kapi‘olani Medical Center. For over two decades, he has been a key figure in local comedy, performing in Hawai‘i and across the U.S. He is also a devoted husband, father, successful radio personality, and Honolulu City Council member. His talents extend to both acting and comedy.

Augie's daughter, Mahealani Sims-Tulba, founded BRAVE Hawaii, a local non-profit organization, in 2013. BRAVE is an acronym that stands for "Be Respectful And Value Everyone". Having been a victim of bullying, Mahea actively raises awareness in schools by speaking and reading to promote kindness, respect, goal setting, personal development, and motivation. BRAVE Hawaii helps local students understand that the key to success is being respectful and valuing everyone.
